Twenty Percent in Thirty-Four

My dad’s heart is only functioning at 20% as of yesterday.

So back in 2002 he had been on a very long journey thay started many years before. He had been going to work very sick with a “cold” he couldn’t get rid of.

Turns out he has congestive heart failure. So he actually had a triple by-pass that August. Brought his function up to 34%. That October he got a really bad infection and spent another good amount of time in the hospital getting that cleared up.

So fast forward to last May. When he was feeling down and ended up in Las Cruces. They put in a stent and that seemed to help. Since then hes had several instances where he runs out of breath and he even fell because he was out of breath one day.

He went to the ER yesterday because he felt awful and they told him his heart function was down to 20%.

They did put him on oxygen so hopefully that’ll help. Plus hes going to see a new cardiologist and he said he was going to switch up his meds. So hopefully that helps.
