Today my oldest finally had her psych evaluation after being on a waitlist for over a year.
She was diagnosed with social anxiety and general anxiety....It wasn’t a surprise to us. She’s shown signs of anxiety for years but it’s nice to finally get help for her.
She’s starting on a low dose of Prozac and will have counselling.
She also is showing signs of oppositional defiance disorder and is at risk of developing borderline personality disorder.
I’m also being referred to a group therapy for parents with children with severe behaviour problems and will learn the best way to help her.
I feel like a shitty mother. I feel like I’ve failed her but fingers crossed its not too late and I can be a better mom.

Sometimes its not the person but the environment the person is in. I don’t like or trust people, and being around people you don’t like or trust will make you anxious.
