__Client #107a asks:
“Is it possible to lose fat and gain muscle with weight lifting? I tend to lose muscle when I am on treadmill. Why? Can weightlifting alone do the trick? Losing fat and gaining muscle?”

Yes it is possible to do but you would ideally mix and match cardio and weight lifting. The biggest issue with this is how you fuel your body for the workout. Your meal plan wouldn’t be set in stone every day of the week. I’d recommend what’s known as carb cycling which in a nutshell is you’d take in more carbs on the days you train and lower carbs on your non-lifting days.
Just exercise alone wouldn’t do it you would have to have both your nutrition and workout plans locked in and working in harmony with each other almost perfectly. You would ideally have macros to make your carb cycling easier and be lifting with heavy compound movements to get the most out of your workouts. A trainer with a consistent nutrition plan and hard work would be able to get this done. It wouldn’t be easy but it is doable.
