How lovey my computer of 4 years now, which has never once given me any problems has now all of sudden crapped out on me. A couple days ago when I turned to turn it on only the power light and one of the lights above the key board lit up, but the screen didn't turn on. So doing a little research online I came to a conclusion that maybe the screen needed to be replaced, which I read is common in Gateways V53 laptops.
So I went ahead and ordered a replacement over amazon, and just powered down the laptop and put it away until the new screen arrived but I wondered. Now that I have left it alone maybe it will show some kind of sign of starting up, but now no lights above the key board light up only the power button. So I went searching again online for any other possible answers, and found one that suggest taking out the battery and trying to start it up while it was plugged into the wall. However it wouldn't turn on at all. (I have tried this method before and would always power on)
Now I have no clue of what to do next, I guess I will have to wait until my husband gets back from underway 2 weeks from now. But I know he is going to want to take it all apart, which I'm afraid that if it is fixable he is going to mess it up even more thinking he know what he is doing. I hate to consider going ahead and buying a new laptop because I know he doesn't want to hear that we may have to go out and spend $500 or what-not on a new laptop. So I know he is going to do all in his power to fix it, which I would be happy with because I love my laptop and I have alot saved on it. So will see if anything changes and if he we be able to fix or have to replace it (sigh )=(
