"THE BLISSFULLY, IGNORANT YOU" in "RESTLESS: POETICALLY-SPEAKING"

It’s true, I guess
Ignorance is bliss
Your life is perfect
How come they don’t get that?
Why is it always bad?

So you’ve found the love of your life
Your oh-so-perfect little wife
You think the whole world has always been beautiful
The complainers are nothing but ungrateful,
such annoying fools

There’s no empathy for the unlucky
You flaunt your fortunes
yet you give the wrong impression
too proud but ignorant

Through your eyes,
you barely realise
life isn’t just unicorns and rainbows
There are dark corners where people go
hiding their monsters so no one knows

Perhaps the real world is still too much for you
That’s cool
Stay in your safest, blissful escape
but don’t you dare question others with different fates
or belittle their battles in their reality…day by day

Your ignorance is your only bliss
It takes a real grown-up to face
what you choose to miss…
