letter to a dog seller in A Day in the Life of Me

I hope you are happy. I hope the few extra bucks you made was worth breaking a woman’s heart, because that is exactly what you did. This puppy was the first thing I have seen her truly excited about since my dad passed 2 years ago, and since she had to have our other dog put down in the fall, and like a coward, you couldn’t even tell her yourself that you sold her puppy on her.
If you had thought for one moment that that specific puppy might still be spoken for, you never should have included her in the ones my mother was there to see. And you damn well should have contacted her yourself the minute you decided to do what you did instead of waiting for name removed for reasons to contact you on her behalf THE MORNING OF THE DAY SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO GET HER to have her informed that she couldn’t have the puppy.
Cruel, and heartbreaking.
I hope it was worth it to you, because this might have been the ONLY chance she had at having her dream dog.
I hope you sleep well at night.

My mom has wanted a Great Dane forever. Dad would never have a large breed dog. She had found out that a family member of a friend was going to be having a breeding pair, and was offered a deal on a pup.
She jumped.
Then a few months ago, the deal was “pulled” they wanted more money. She was still debating. she really wants one, also the mother was bred sooner then she was told, but she still wanted one.
last week she gets a call from the friend saying that the family memeber still had 3 left.. and if she was still interested she could have one for this deal and did she want to come out and see the pups?
So she went, she let one pick HER, and the deal was made.
She was supposed to pick her up last night.
She called her friend tue night to see if she could get ahold of *seller * to figure out a pick up time as mom worked till 4… apparently it was late, friend couldn’t reach her, told mom to call her back in the morning and she would let her know if she had talked to her.

When mom called around the arranged time… that was the news she had gotten.
Thank god she hadn’t given the woman any money… she apparently tried to offer her the other pup, who showed no interest in her at all, or hell even the mother.... but the damage was done.
Mom’s livid AF.
So am I. I have tracked down this womans fb… Its taking every ounce of strength to NOT send the above letter… Mom has saved all year for this pup. I managed to get her a great deal on a huge kennel from another friend of mine here in the city, AND sent to her, the day before puppy was ment to come home…

It’s a shame, the same thing happened to my parents. They wanted a border collie puppy and were going to get the dog with the blue eyes. When they went to pick him up, someone else had taken the dog and they offered them the bitch instead. They took the bitch and Meg turned out to be the best dog in the world. She lived to be 16, died four years ago and we all still miss her today.

Apparently she offered mom the bitch too... but she hasn't even met her. Only saw her through the fence when she arrived.. she's half thought of it, but she will be harder to train at this point.
