The fifth day of developing the habits and I first felt like I was going to lose progress today because I woke way to late and didn’t get to exercise, but I think I did well today.
1. WAKE UP ON THE 1ST ALARM. Nope, I literally had insomnia last night and did not sleep until like 4:00 AM. I have no idea why I couldn’t sleep, but I used the time to complete a miniature version of the calendar I made and hopefully figure out a way to make sure it is printed in high quality in the future.
2. CHANT 30 MINUTES IN THE MORNING & NIGHT. I actually did this one! Because I was running late, I chanted in my car while driving to work, and work is like 30 minutes away, so it was the perfect opportunity to chant. I also chanted when I drove home. Surprisingly, chanting while driving helps me focus a lot more, but quickly gets me winded after a while. I’m really glad a I found some time and way to chant.
3. EXERCISE IN THE MORNING. I unfortunately did not get time to do this and I am thinking of changing the habit to exercise at least 30 minutes a day without a specific time on when to do it. However, exercising in the morning is better than exercise in the afternoon for me because I feel very energized after a nice exercise in the morning. When I do it the afternoon, it makes me feel tired and just want to sleep, which is pretty good before bed, but I typically like to write my entries before bed.
4. BECOME FLEXITARIAN. This is the third success in a row, right? I’m not really sure, but I am super happy that I accomplished this one again today. Still need to watch my portion sizes though.
5. SLEEP MORE. Haha, nope. I do hope I get to sleep earlier so that I accomplish this one intentionally for once.
6. READ A FEW PAGES OF A BOOK EVERY DAY. I finally freaking did it! I read the Introduction and Chapter 1 of Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki today. I read it last year, but it feels like I’ve never read it. I’m going to make it my goal to read every single book this man wrote, take notes, buy them when I can afford all it, and freaking annotate the books with my favorites quotes and lessons. I’ll probably do this for all the books that have inspired me.
7. ONLY DRINK WATER. Success! I only drank water, but ate an orange because I was craving flavored liquids. I finally realized I don’t need to give up juice while trying to accomplish this goal because I can drink the juice by directly eating the fruit. Realizing that has calmed my thirst for juice.
8. DO NOT EAT CANDY. Chocolate covered crepe is not a candy, right? One of my colleagues at work brought a whole box of crepes for the office to eat after training and I ate some because I forgot to eat breakfast and I was craving sugar. I really need to watch my sugar in take. It seems I’m substituting my taste for candy with anything that is sweet like cookies and ice creams. I’ll consider this a success, but I really need to watch my sugar intake now that I realize what I’m probably doing.
9. PLAN YOUR SCHEDULE AHEAD. I actually completed this one because I made a miniature version of the planner I had Office Depot/Office Max print and bind for me, which will hopefully be finished by tomorrow. Why did I print out a miniature version of a planner I had ordered to be printed and bonded? I made it to be my portable journal and a scratch planner for the real thing. Trying out the layout can help me create and build a better planner for next year.
10. WRITE AN ENTRY EVERYDAY. I accomplished this one, but I was wondering if I should allow myself to have a cheat day with the habits if I’ve done them consistently for a long period of time. Nah, I like this goal too much to stop anytime soon. I wonder how I’m going to make time to do this once my life gets busier with school.
Personal Summary Analysis: Oh.My.Universe. I actually accomplished 7/10 of the goals today! I freaking rock! I hope to accomplish more tomorrow.
