Sneaking... in These Foolish Things

Sneaking an entry in here. It’s early Saturday morning. This is the time when The Scot and I normally FaceTime, but he is busy at his mum’s and then he’s going to go on a hike with his friend and then tea. As you know from my previous entry, I’m about to have a super busy day, so Scot and I might not be able to FT today.

Not the end of the world as we had a marathon FT sesh yesterday after his office gathering and last day until the New Year. We talked for 4.5 hours yesterday - it was like a date! And it was so much fun. We both drank our drinks (him, whisky; me, champagne) and talked and laughed and laughed. We are both getting extremely excited about our meeting in New York.

At this point, we’ve both told just about everyone we know, and it feels like the whole of the Western world is pulling for us! He sent me a long text yesterday about how he’s shown all the girls in his office my pictures and they have ooh’d and aaah’d and they are super excited and I’ve done the same.

One week from tomorrow and we’ll be meeting at the clock in Grand Central Station…and if this isn’t the build-up to beat all build-ups I don’t know what is.

Now. The important question: what do I pack??!! I’ve decided that I’m going to check a bag because it’s going to be freezing cold and I want to bring a couple of coats, furry sweaters, boots. It’s also supposed to SNOW on NYE!! Please, please let it snow on NYE at midnight!!

I’ve booked us a carriage ride through Central Park at 11:30pm on NYE, which will take us through The Bells, as he calls it (WE know it as the “Ball Drop” at the stroke of midnight, but somehow that sounds a bit less civilized, you agree?). Can you imagine? The two of us, in a horse-drawn carriage, under a blanket, bottle of champagne, thermos of something warm, probably a flask of whisky…kissing at midnight on New Years Eve while the snow falls softly??!!

I mean…

Okay. Enough of this for now. I got a lot of my shopping done yesterday and now I need to start prepping for the day. I’ll take the dog to daycare, then work out, then back home to get ready for Brunch Club (yayay!!), then nail appointment, pick up Dad’s gift at Best Buy, then drive to Lovely’s town for her ‘Birthmas’ party! It’s going to be a nice, full Saturday. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate as well.

Enjoy your day, everyone!

xox,
GS
