Memories. These are some of the blocks and panels that Sister Margaret’s Sewing ladies helped build for the AIDS Quilt. It was hard for me to go to displays of the AIDS Quilt and find friends I hadn’t known died. Once a week, friends and family came to the old St. John’s’ church to make panels for their special people. Dale came to make a panel and stayed to the very last. Three friends of Sr. Margaret came to sew, and they too stayed till we closed the workshops.

December first is World AIDS day. The disease is still with us.

The treatment and survival rate is so much better. We still are not where we would like to be in terms of a cure but it’s still improving.

You are really good at remembering people who have passed. You are reliable, constant, and properly sad. Just wanted to recognize that quality in you.

Thank you. I care.

These quilts are wonderful works of art and fabulous tributes to much-missed people taken too early. Another diarist displayed one on his diary a few months ago and I was very impressed.

What a wonderful tribute.
