Watching the coverage of the midterm elections as I write this entry!! EXCITING!!

Kind of a weird day today. Started the morning feeling it was urgent for me to book our room in NYC for New Years Eve since, to [Elaine]’s point, I haven’t gotten any confirmation from The Scot about his plane ticket, etc.

So I thought I’d kind of speed things up and push things along if I sent him a message asking him if he trusted me enough to book our room. He replied immediately saying that he trusts me and that all he cares about is if the room is warm and clean.

I actually found a suite that was decently priced in Midtown - a classic NYC hotel with traditional styling - not trendy or flashy…but nice and big…that way if we meet and are not quite right for each other, then we can each have our own room. I figured that would be the most comfortable thing for the both of us. I mean, he INSISTS that I am the girl for him, but how can he possibly know unless we meet, right?

So yeah. Flight booked. Room booked. All I need now is for the MAN to be booked.

Deep in my heart I’m having some doubts. I should trust this, but today…

I didn’t hear anything from The Scot about the suite after I sent him the link to the hotel. In fact, I kind of got weirded out as he’d been answering me right away today. I knew he was at work, but he’d been so swift earlier this morning and I didn’t hear back from him until AFTER I sent him a joking text:

”You hate it don’t you? [ in reference to the hotel link I’d sent earlier] You’re not coming!! [a dozen sad crying face emojis]”

He wrote back an hour later telling me that he thought it looked amazing and he didn’t even want to know the price [sad face and laughy faces]. He was just home and just now having a chance to look…

I don’t 100% believe that, but what the fuck do I know anyway.

I will be honest though. I think he’s freaking out a little bit since I’ve asked him to put his money where his mouth is. I think he’s freaking out that I’m calling his bluff.

What could he possibly expect after sending me the most beautiful texts and saying the most charming things over FaceTime? I WILL MEET YOU, handsome Scotsman…because YOU MADE ME!!!

OK. Gotta walk the dog and then get back to watching the election results. And possibly take a look at what’s going on in my Tinder account.

OH…and I got a text from a former colleague today asking me if she could introduce me to someone she things would be perfect for me. I told her sure…

Clearly the game’s not over until it’s over. Right?

xox,
