Could this Really be it? in Daily, Weekly, etc

I just saw a commercial for Ancestry.com that they do DNA test now, and surprising for a reasonable price. Could this be the key to the first step of actually finding out who my father is, what his name maybe and what he may look like? I really hope and pray that this could be it, or at least a good start. All I want to know is who my father maybe or who he was and maybe his family. Is that too much to ask for? My mother makes me feel like I'm wrong for wanting to know who my father is, and if I ask her questions she acts like I have no right to know anything about him, but I do have the right and hopefully this maybe a good start.
