Name: The Beagle. Yeah, I know. You remember The Bulldog. But this guy has such a similar nickname in real life, and it’s just too easy!

Age: 49

Status: Never married, no kids…what?

Job: Some kind of medical device developer/sales guy

Lives: A neighborhood over - walking distance.

Length of Date: 3 hours

We Did: I picked the spot. Met at a restaurant known for a cool rooftop bar with a beautiful view. I’m so predictable, aren’t I? Heh. But it wasn’t one in my neighborhood…nor in his, so we both said we’d meet there via Uber/Lyft.

He Looked: Sharp. Like, almost too sharp…almost too slick. But then, he’s a salesman after all. Why do I get swept off my feet by salesguys? They know how to work it I guess. But he did. He looked good. He’s not 100% attractive to me, but he’s growing on me. He’s bald and his face reminds me of someone I dated when I lived in the Great Midwest…the similarities are uncanny, and I really liked that guy a lot (in fact, that Gr. Midwest guy has the biggest penis I’ve ever experienced, fwiw). He’s tall enough - maybe 6’1” or 6’2”. He dresses very nicely. Microfiber pants - you know, the kind of soft, flowy pants, super soft navy blue shirt. Gorgeous loafers. Gorgeous watch. Dimples. Yes!

I Looked: I wore what I wore to work yesterday morning: button front, tie waist cotton dress with a leafy kind of camo print. It’s cute and somehow kind of sexy (I think, anyway…if it wasn’t sexy to him, my shoes definitely were!), high-heeled strappy sandals and mixed metallic jewelry. Very Urban Jungle.

First Impression: Well, I’d already met him on Friday night but I’d had a few. Last night I was actually more impressed than Friday night. Friday night I was clearly playing around. Last night was for REAL..

Convo: The guy is seriously hilarious. Like, I belly laugh out freaking loud when we talk. Our talk is pretty damn easy except for when I accidentally spilled some stuff about how I am not very happy at work. He actually got very passionate about our conversation and I could tell that he was pissed off by some of the things I told him. I think he has the potential to be a protective kind of boyfriend - like, one who’d give advice and be on my side. I like that. Oh, and we talked about his underwear. There are several reasons we talked about his underwear and maybe someday I’ll explain! Just know that it was GREAT conversation!

High Point: Just being pleased that I liked him last night as much as I did on Friday night - knowing that our meeting was not a fluke and that he’s not a dick.

Low Point: I was talking about how Maria and I know each other and our history and the way I described her made him roll his eyes once. I know why he rolled his eyes and it was actually kind of a supportive kind of eye roll if you can somehow imagine that, and I get it, but an eye roll of any kind gives me pause - ONLY because I am watching really hard for red flags.

How It Ended: He actually drove me home. For whatever reason, I guess he had trouble with his rideshare and ended up just hopping in his car and driving over. We didn’t drink a lot because I had to call it an early night because of my 4:30am workout, so I felt comfortable with him driving me home (and we took the total back roads - ha!). He pulled up in front of my building and we chatted about our next date (Sunday night), and he tried to pull the moves to give me a super sexy kiss, but I kissed him back very softly and pulled away a bit. He’s assertive, for sure.

Chances Are: Yes! We already have a date set for Sunday evening!

Date Rating: Solid B. I think I like him, but I need more time with him. It’s all good!
