TS4: Jungle Adventure in The Sims

This game is really like a rehash of World Adventures. I’m not saying I don’t like it, I loved World Adventures. And this game is pretty good. WA was better though, I’ll be honest. The puzzles were more fun and more complicated. This is a watered down version of WA which sucks a bit. That said I have enjoyed exploring this pack and especially enjoyed all the beautiful scenery.

I fear that this version of the Sims franchise is focusing more on being “pretty” than the game play which is what this franchise has been known for in the past. I do enjoy The Sims 4, don’t get me wrong but in terms of quality game play it is sorely lacking compared to The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. I didn’t come to bitch about it but with TS4 it’s hard to be completely positive about it.

Anyway, I decided to use Patricia for this adventure since she's a go-getting detective with the Sim City Police. This is her adventure outfit and hairstyle. If you don't remember what she looks like normally you can check out the entry from 2016 TS4: Rana & Patricia.

And her dress outfit with clothes from this pack.

First stop in the new vacation world (Selvadorada) is the Puerto Llamante Marketplace.

After getting the adventure gear she needed a stop for some local cuisine (served by a bunch of white red-headed "natives") at the food stall was in order.

Some local design features. I love this new fireplace.

The big difference of this pack from previous Sims' vacation packs is that animals are FINALLY allowed to go with you and there are strays that wander around the jungle.

Heading into Belomisia Jungle. Have to cut through a lot of vines.

Failed the first time and got attacked by bees!

Got through eventually but was followed in by a big fire ball from the heat-creating insects in Selvadorada that Patricia actually managed to avoid.

A crashed plane.

After all the excitement Pat needed a nap. Going back to the hostel is a pain in the ass so she made sure she had a tent on her. She ended up sleeping quite awhile.

After the nap a refreshing shower in a bottle.

MORE MACHETE TIME! She takes that machete very seriously.

Welcome to the Omiscan Royal Baths.

I love this bridge. It's over a big gorge that ends in gorgeous waterfalls.

Excavating an archaeological site.

This little guy made an appearance.

Patricia ran for it while trying not to panic.

Then? A random lizard! None of these animals can be interacted with. They are animated decorations. I miss the snakes, birds, rodents, turtles, and lizards we could have as pets in TS3.

Patricia finally makes it to the temple! The temple spawns a new layout after every vacation ends so you don't get the same layout twice in a row. That's nice because in TS3 one you had one Sim go through the tombs they stayed in the already explored states. They never reset.

The way into the temple.

Skeleton guards.

Having a weird conversation with a temple god.

Trying to deactivate another temple door.

Oops! She got hit with a poisonous dart.

It gave her some funky spots and she had to go get an antidote from the marketplace to get rid of them before continuing on in the temple.

When she got to the end she met this bony dude. You can't change into a skeleton though.

Upper parts of the temple lot.

After her adventure it was time to authenticate some of Pat's finds.

This photo is unrelated but is the new cat (Tabitha) that my character Rana just adopted. I'm sure an entry about Rana will be coming soon. She's the first Sim I ever made in the game (aside from a self-sim I made back in 2014) and the one I play with the most.

That's it for now! Until next time, happy simming!
