Olsen has taken a job working at a nearby resort in their housekeeping department. I’m very pleased and kind of surprised. I can’t picture my daughter cleaning people’s messes for a living. I mean, I know this is temporary, but it still seems like exactly the sort of job she’d hate. In fairness, it’s the type of job most people would hate. But I’m going to take some satisfaction in knowing that the girl that won’t make her own bed is actually going to spend her day making other people’s beds.
And speaking of beds, Megan surprised me over the weekend by telling me that she’d had a long conversation with Mercer about bed wetting. I’ve been sort of ignoring that issue because of everything else going on, but it’s been lingering in the back of my mind. Just not sure what to do with a teenager that wets her bed.
Megan said that Mercer started the conversation by asking if Megan was familiar with a certain watersports website. I’ve made it extremely clear that I don’t want Megan discussing porn with my kids. (I might be slightly tolerant if it’s Olsen since she’s older, but not the young ones.) So Megan felt like she really didn’t know what to do because she wanted to respect my wishes but also knew that I’ve been having this issue with Mercer and wet beds.
She told me she responded vaguely about not being familiar with the site (which she later assured me wasn’t actually true), but was familiar with watersports as an activity between consenting adults. Mercer responded, “Or even single people by themselves…?”
They went on to talk about pee fetishes in a very generic sense, according to Megan, and although Mercer didn’t confess to anything, it seems clear that she has a lot of interest in the subject.
Honestly, I’m somewhat relieved.
I think I’m going to start reading a book called Stone Butch Blues. Has anyone read it?

I'd be pissed if B was wetting her bed since not only does it stink but she'd be ruining a bed. I'm surprised at how well you've handled this.
