4/19 in --

I started writing in a paper journal that my husband got me for Christmas. I think it was a hint that I need to do something meaningful for myself. The entries are much different from my online journaling I do here. The difference between paper and online is that online I think sometimes we feel like we have to leave bits of ourselves out, or build ourselves into someone who is readable, even if we don’t consciously do that. And sometimes I don’t want to do that. And sometimes these bits of who I am don’t make sense for me, so being able to put it away is good.

When I told my husband that this website was shutting down and I was disappointed and reminded of Open Diary shutting down, he became determined to create a new journal site. He’s never used one, but he’s been working on one, and he’s been excited about it. For me. He sure is somethin’.

I hope that I am enthusiastic and caring in the same ways. I try to be.

My youngest is two weeks old today. It feels like it hasn’t been that long but it also feels like she’s been on Earth forever. Time loses meaning when you have a newborn. One minute it’s morning and the next it’s 1am and they’re both the same.

I love her dearly.

I had a purpose when I came here to write but I don’t remember what it was. So it goes.
