"THE FEAR THAT IS REAL" in "RESTLESS: POETICALLY-SPEAKING"

I don’t remember
the last time I cried in someone’s arms.
Perhaps I’m just trying to forget
in order to remain strong.
There are times you must be on your own.

Perhaps you’ll be wondering about me,
whether I’m as icy cold as can be.
I’m not easy
not even that open when it comes to love.
There’s this fear that is real
like being abandoned
once the feelings begin.

May you be real
not just another empty promise and the same
or even worse than them…

R.
