Boys are finally in bed. Took them long enough to fall asleep! I think once they pass their tired point and get their second wind, getting them to settle is harder.
The week just seems to have flown by! Only had to work once this week (today), but I kept busy. It was nice this week to have my mom stay in town a few days. She slept over at my dad's (who's out-of-town this week and said she could stay there) most of the week, but last night Nick asked if she could come spend her last night at our place so she did :) Nick has a close bond with his Grammy, being the first grandchild. He has fond memories of his sleepovers at Grammy's :)
This morning before mom hit to road to head back home, she offered to bring me in to Nick's school to have a talk with the principal. I've just had a few concerns nagging at me, mostly regarding Nick not receiving the assistance he needs. I went in there hoping/expecting the principal to be understanding and wanting to help, but instead all I got from her was "Oh everything is just sunshine and roses!" and everything I said was down-played. If Nicholas has improved as much as she says he has, then obviously the problem is with the teachers because his grades have not improved. Oh, it made me so mad... Adam is finally on my side about this and agrees Nick should change schools next year. The alternative school it is. Anyone out there have experiences with alternative schools? I hear they are better equipped to work with children with ADHD/learning disabilities.
On a happier note- tomorrow is Saturday! It's stay-in-bed-til-the-boys-beg-for-breakfast day. I usually make pancakes. And is it just me or does coffee taste better on Saturday mornings? ;) I love just sitting here in my living room with my coffee, mu feet propped up... The sunshine streaming in, boys playing happily... No rushing, no stress. Love it. I'm still unsure if I'll bring Nicky to karate tomorrow. Normally my dad brings us but since he's out of town we'll have to bus it :( It's not like I'm paying a whole bunch for the course so missing one class shouldn't be a big deal...
Looking forward to Sunday for three reasons... 1. Church 2. Nick's birthday party with the fam 3. The possibility of bumping into my new crush at church ;) I've only spoken with him once but I have a feeling we'll be talking more now that we know each other and both sit in the same area at church. As I was leaving the singles' event at church two weeks ago, where we met, he asked me where I sit, so who knows. If he's interested in me, as I suspect he is, he might come looking for me :)
It's late. I should be getting to bed now! Hope you all have a good night!
