Yet Another Cont'd Entry 8/13/2002

I'm extremely pissed. We were telling her what goes on with her son, and she complains?? Jodie, OK, she was rude, but Heather always says things in a respectful manner and ALWAYS adds something good that the child did that day. I'm so ^%$*( pissed that that woman complained!!!! If I were a parent, I would definitely want to know what was going on with my kid, especially if s/he were hurting other kids. And then these kids go off to school and cause massive problems in the classroom and the parents wonder why. I HATE CAMP PARENTS! They're all so educated and so wealthy, yet so oblivious to their own children.

When Matthew M. got picked up that day, the mother sighed and asked how he was. Heather should get an Oscar or a Grammy for the performance she put on. Matthew tortutred our little girl Emma today, who got so fed up with Matt that she screamed at the top of her lungs, "SHUT UP and get away from me!" But Haether mentioned none of it. She beamed and exclaimed, "He was great! Much better in behavior!" The mother was, of course, skeptical, and asked, "Why the sudden change in behavior, do you think?" (Fuck you, lady. You get us in trouble with uor boss when we tell you the truth and now you get pissed when we lie). So Haether keeps beamimg, shrugs, and says, "I don't know, but he was great!" The mother finally buys into it and says, "See? All you have to do is get creative with him and he'll listen." ::Scoffs:: I wonder: is beating him with a stick considered creative?

Other than Matt M., our group is pretty good, considering we have seventeen kids in that group. All the other kids are pretty cute. Emma, our cute blue-eyed blondie had a crush on the 16 year-old lifeguard. They got married in the pool :o). He calls her his wife, and she just eats it up.

One of my favorite campers is Matthew F. His parents, the mother especially, are such sweethearts, and so appreciative. Their good-manners reflect on Matt. He's so polite, but so quiet. He's extremely shy, and he whispers when he talks. He's so polite and sweet that I just want to adopt him. Two of my campers, Megan and Andrew decided that they were going to get married yesterday. Sooo cute!!! So I said, "Well, if Megan marries Andrew, then I'm going to have to marry Mattew." Matthew blushed and giggled and shook his head. Blake, our youngest and one of the sweetest campers, hugged my back and asked to marry me. It was so adorable. He has this light brown hair and massive blue eyes...I want to adopt him too. So I laughed and agreed, and my two year-old finance asks "Well, when are we going to get married?" I laughed and told him, "Right now." He laughed and clapped. It was just one of those moments I want to remember.

So yes...these are the things that I'll try to remember when I'm sad and away from home :o]
