Kicking Ass 10/27/2001
It's funny how I have so much luck with some things, and almost none with others. Academically, I'm kicking ass. I got a 78 on my calculus test. Granted, a 78 isn't that great of a grade, but I got a 48 on my last calculus test. With a half hour of tutoring, I went up 30 points. Plus, those grades can be replaced. My calculus exam has sections one through four. If I do better on section one than I did on the first test I took, the grade gets replaced with the final grade. Like, let's say I get 85% of the questions right on section one; my 48 gets replaced with an 85. Since I have people I can go to for help now, I know I can do better. Homework and stuff gets counted for 20% of my grade, which will help me out a lot. Plus, every time I do test corrections (we have four tests) I get one point added to my final average. So I have four point to add on to whatever grade I get.
In my religion and anthropology classes I'm kicking ass. I've gotten A's in everything so far (knock on wood). My Freshman Forum class is an easy A. My chemistry class is the only one giving me problems. On our last test, the class average was a 60 so he had to give us an 18 point curve just so we could pass. On the last test I just took, everyone came out crying. Out of the 25 questions that were given, the average person I talked to guessed on ten or more. I'm expecting a monster curve on this test. Plus, I think he may curve the grades at the end, because it'll look bead for him if most of his 150 students walk out with C's and D's. So, for the most part, I'm doing well in school.
Until later
