Day Two 8/24/2001
Linda came home about an hour after I wrote my last entry. I got out of my pj's and went with her to this comedy thing SU was holding in the student center. The comedy show itself was really funny actually. One performer was a student who was a senior in SU. He basically just told funny stories about his roommate and his adventures at SU. The second act was much longer. It was given by this gut named Robert Patrick Kelly. Almost the entire act was about sex; pretty crude but extremely funny at the same time.
While I was gone yesterday, Linda made two buddies; one was named Sara and the other I can't remember. Sara is the nicer of the two and she's in A&S with me. (Arts and Sciences). We went to the show with them. We picked up a few people along the way; one was named Chris. Up until today I thought he was our RA because he looks so much older. This morning I found out that he's a freshman. I think he has a thing for Linda. Linda and I were walking down a hallway and some random hot guy waves hello to her. She apparently met him on the floor meeting as well. A few minutes ago, Linda walks in with this beautiful tall girl. They were talking about how to work the phone. The girl left, inviting Linda to hang out with her soon. I'd like to know how Linda met so many people in such a short time. I mean, people just come up to her and start talking to her.
I'm deciding whether or not I like Linda. She's seems nice enough. She's not as shy as Salma, my roommate from the George Mason University program, but not as flamboyant as Natalie, my roommate from Carnegie Mellon. She defintiely has a magnetic personality. I think she's the type who is constantly surrounded by close friends; she thrives in whatever environment she is placed in. (Maybe I should be a psych major?) Even though Lionda is a social butterfly, she's not into drinking or frat parties.
My orientation was this morning. We went to breakfast with Chris, Sara, and Sara's roommate. Food isn't bad. The orientation itself was alright. I kept staring at the professors, trying to figure out which ones were mine. The marching band kicks ass. We had lunch in the Carrier Dome. Linda met yet another person, a girl named Stephanie who I just didn't like. I don't know, she just didn't seem like a nice person.
I came back to the room and my parents were there. They hooked up my tv. I have to wait until Sunday until it works because the cable guys haven't set anything up yet. I tried so hard not to cry when my parents left. I wanted so badly to run after them...I just kissed everyone good-bye and didn't look back. It's for the best I guess. 21 more days until I go home.
Linda, her best friend from home, and this girl's parents just came in. A random girl named Eileen just came into my room. Sara came in my room a few minutes ago....Wow, everything is happening so fast! I'll finish this entry later...
Until later
