Distorted Images 8/10/2001

Alright, staying home isn't sooo bad. Two weeks ago, Angyl, J.G., and I went out to the movies to see "Legally Blonde." It was a cute movie. The main character reminded me a little of my sister...Last week, Angyl, Blossom, Batman, and I went out to the mall. I boought stupid little stuff for my room like those glow in the dark stars. Blossom and I went bra shoppng. I found out I am now a 38 D. I thought you were supposed to STOP growing after eighteen...? We had fun; it was nice to just hang out.

Then we went to Friendly's for some extremely fattening Munchie Mania. Munchie Mania's are about 400 gazillion calories, but they taste so good it doesn't matter. They're a sampler platter of fries, chicken quesadillas, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks. Then I had a strawberry Fribble, which I could easily live on. They're these really thick shakes that make you break your ribs on as you try ans suck them down. I love'em. Yeah, so last Friday was definitely a good night. All of my friends were trying to make me feel better about the whole Caleigh situation. When I told John what had happened, all he said was, "Life's a bitch." Sometimes I love my friends more than my family...

A bunch of counselors and I were sitting around and talking today. Well, actually, they were mostly talking, but I was listening in. I feel so much less experienced next to some of these girls. They were like, "...and last night me and a bunch of my friends got plastered. It was so much fun..." etc, etc. Or, "Yeah, we all went clubbing last night and we met these guys..." I can't even remember the last time I went clubbing...Oh yeah, in APRIL. For whatever reason, even though I love dancing, and like to drink, I always seem to make friends with the straight-edge type. Not that that's a bad thing, but for once I'd like to break out of my slightly nerdy, goody-two-shoes image that seems to follow me around. No one seems to believe that I'd ever do anything bad or at least a little wild.

I remember in tenth grade I went to Spain instead of having a sweet sixteen party. The last night I was there me and my friends went to this sick seven-story club. I met this beautiful guy--he is the only guy I'd ever kissed who had a goatee (spelling?). I didn't even get his name. Yeah, so we were messing around pretty heavily and of course, all of my friends saw. When we got back, they of course told people. (Don't ya love the high school grapevine?) The sad thing was, almost no-one believed them. My ex-friend Diana, once said, "Yeah, when Blossom told me what happened in Spain, I just didn't believe it. I mean, you just aren't the type of person to do something like that." The thing is, I am the person to do something like that. Just because I wear glasses and get good grades doesn't mean I sit at home at night and read chemistry textbooks for a thrill.

I'm hoping some things will change in college....

Until later
