It's the Little Things 5/25/2001

Last Tuesday was better than the day before. I found out that I got a 100 on the test that I had made up. I was quite proud of myself. I may get an A in calculus this quarter. I had to stay after again, but luckily, no-one bothered me this time. I stayed after until 2:15, which meant I had to wait for the 3:15 bus since I missed the 2:05. Problem was, the 3:15 bus never came and I had to wait until 4:00 to get home. I was wearing sneakers this time, and was prepared to walk home, except it was pouring outside. And it was humid which made it so hard to breathe. While I waited for my bus, I met up with one of my friends, Angyl, and we had an extremely interesting discussion about religion. I'm weird, what do you want from me? I love discussing topics like that; I like to pick people's brains, I guess.

Then, Wednesday was awesome. We had a party in Mrs. Mongrey's English class. Dunkin Donuts, bagels, and fresh orange juice, mmmm mmmmm. It takes very little to make me happy. I made a doofus out of myself during the party, but it's all good. I love the donuts with the white powder on top and the cream in the center. Unfortunately, I kept getting the powder on the edges of my mouth. One of my friends, Kala, kept laughing at me because I was constantly wiping my mouth. She said I looked like a little kid. So while I'm wiping away like an idiot, one of my classmates named Caitlin walks up to me ans says something, but I wasn't really paying attention. I just kind of smiled and nodded at her. When she had walked away, I realized that she had told me that she had put me in her cover letter. A cover letter is an introduction. We always have to include a cover letter in our English portfolios. We were handing in the last AP Composition portfolio that day and were reading our cover letter out loud.

Caitlin was the first to read. Basically, she wrote that her favorite assignment all year was "Myself as a Writer." This assignment was basically an autobiography about how our interest/apathy/hate of English had developed as we grew up. Caitlin said, "Bceause of (insert my name here)'s kind comments, I was encouraged to include this essay as part of this portfolio. I was wanted to thank her...blah blah blah. I won't bore you. I thought it was really sweet. Everyone looked at me expectantly at the end, but I couldn't say much because my mouth was full of doughnut, so I just smiled goofily. I have so much class... :o) (I really can be very mature and elegant when I want to be.) I cut third period, I had calculus fourth period, I had fifth through seventh free because fifth and sixth period were cancelled and I have a free period during seventh. Economics was eigth period, but it's such a b.s. class.

I was absent on Thursday. It was the day of the prom. In my school, you have to be in school for at least four periods if you want to be allowed into the prom. Howvever, I wasn't going, so I gave myself an extra day off. I went to see "Shrek" (awesome movie) with Panama and then went on some errands with my parents. Panama only wanted to go to an early movie because she had to get up early the next day. She was meeting everyone else at the train station the next morning so they could all arrive in NYC together. But I'm not bitter I wasn't invited...really...Ah, it doesn't matter any more. I got Dunkin Donuts, bagels, I got a 100 on my math test, and Caitlin gave me a major compliment in front of the entire class.
