The Enemy Above (Sister’s Love)

It was never thought
That a threat could be so near.
Never fathomed
That the one called “dad”
Could be one feared.

To the movies,
To the store,
You’d have never known
To watch carefully your door.

Your sister he claimed,
Your mother he blamed –
Too terrible to believe,
The thought of him maimed.

Now, afraid to sleep
Forever you’ll weep
Waiting for him to come
Once more.
