Ledgers Within

Presssing forward;
The music has arisen
Bringing feelings of past latency
and despondent emotional intricacy.

Mismetered ledgers
despite waning details;
The rains fall from above
Without respite for draining eyes.

The trees listen
And experience this bliss;
Only when reality is broken
Can the trail widen
To accept its’ reprieve from the rain.

Thunder comes;
Trodding a war of frailty.
A bugle stands out
From the fabric of justice
In time to issue the warning call
Bringing man to the knees of his fate.
   A common fiber without elation.

Again the ledgers are printed
With meters and ties.
Lofty marks placed to contain
The emotion within.

While musicians praise
A neverending embrace on pale lies,
They provide the escape
From the vested mise of Saints and kin.
