Well, well, my little chickadees. What’s going on lately? Can you say Mercury is in retrograde? I sure can!
Here are some of the examples:
• Dinner last night with my friend Cindy was lovely - until it became an argument about the state of the retail industry and how Amazon is taking over and what the online vs. brick and mortar experience is all about. I was so sad that we were arguing, yet I couldn’t/wouldn’t back down and neither would she! It was a super weird conversation and after we both got home, she sent me a text reminding me about Mercury Rx! I had forgotten.
• This morning, at the airport, I had a funny, funny, sneaking suspicion in my gut. I just somehow knew that SexyPants was at the airport and I just wanted to say hi. Yes, gut feelings - that’s Mercury in Rx for you. I sent him a text asking if he was around, and sure enough - he was there! Not only that, he was only 2 gates down from the club lounge where I was sitting and he told me that he was ON HIS WAY to come say hello.
• It was good to talk with him, but again, that’s what Mercury retrogrades do…they bring your pasts back to you. Turns out, he’s moving out of state again for a while. In fact, he’s having what seems to be another midlife crisis. He quit his job, he’s selling one of his fancy pants sports cars (gotta have something to drive, right?), and he’s going back to therapy to find out why he has such a hard time with commitment! I suppose that’s a good thing? But all in all, he’s the same dude. I’d never go back to him at this point, but I’m really happy to hear that he is being proactive in figuring himself out. Introspection! Another byproduct of the Merc. retrograde!
• But Mercury retrogrades also bring about crazy technology issues. Get this: my computer blew up before I left the office last night (and thankfully, long before I got on a PLANE!). I was able to take my laptop to the IT guy (because he works late and because he’s also babysitting my dog while I’m traveling), and he said he’d never seen a battery blow up so…dramatically… before! Wow. I guess when I blow a battery, I really BLOW a battery!
What else is in store during this retrograde? I guess only time will tell. Right now, I’m on a business trip and Day 1 has been chock full of surprises and changes and meetings moved around. Presentation #1 went down without many hitches, but there’s always Presentation #2 tomorrow.
Bedtime now. Tomorrow comes early and I’m walking with my red-headed counterpart in the early AM before breakfast!
