A Little Behind in These Foolish Things

A Big Behind: I have faltered on my diet.

Took my dad to a steak place for Father’s Day yesterday and ate a 6oz filet mignon with trimmings, which was fabulous. Oh, and my dad, mom and I had a wonderful visit. [I’ve figured out that I just need one big glass of wine when I’m with them and I feel alright. Like, they used to sometimes stress me out, but one large portion of wine seems to do the trick - GREAT conversations after that!] And THEN we went to a place called Cake Bar, so guess what I ate? Yep. Cake.

And don’t forget that a couple of weeks ago I went to freaking ITALY and ate like a mofo for a week. Since then I have been lax with both diet and exercise and UGGGHHH what a vicious cycle I put myself through.

Not only that, Maria (my friend and Italy traveling companion) hosted a “Celebrity Chef Dinner” on Saturday night. She invited a few of her good friends and had the chef that her family uses (yes, they are loaded) during the week and had a special intimate dinner with Chef Paulo, who also happens to be the chef for a pretty famous local billionaire. Needless to say, it was phenomenal. But here I sit, sad because I have control issues when it comes to food. I mean, what are you supposed to do at a dinner party? Leave half a Cornish game hen on your plate? I suppose I could have/should have done that, right?

I went to the grocery store over the weekend and have now pulled out my fancy food scale to actually serve its intended purpose. I’ve started to create portions of nuts, veggies and the like to have as snacks during the day, and I’m working on weighing out all of the other stuff too.

There are only 129 days until I turn 50. The countdown is on and I’m SERIOUS…!

Don’t Cry For Me: Argentina!! Next trip! I’m going there at the end of the year and over New Year’s Eve with someone you may be familiar with here on PB: [Elaine Benes]! Super excited to be going on another trip for the continuation of the Fifty and Fabulous Tour.

I’m in charge of planning the WINE-Y part of this tour as I now have some pretty good experience with my Champagne Campaign from last year. What should we call this one? Hmmmm…send me some food for thought.

But I’m so excited about another wine tour! And we’re going to be in Buenos Aires on New Years Eve! It will be Summertime there…how crazy to think about.

More motivation to meet my GOALS of…I don’t know…maybe fitting into a swimsuit? :)

Side Hustlin’: I’ve had communications with the “other” company, and we’re trying to get something together for me to work on from a consulting standpoint. This is something that wouldn’t be a conflict of interest. I feel like I really kind of just need to get moving on this, even though I don’t really know how it’s going to work. It just needs to happen and I need to bite the bullet, otherwise I may never get off the ground. Let’s goooooo!

…and speaking of hustling, I gotta get on outta here. I’ve tried to tap this out over the course of the day and now it’s time to goooooo!!
