I Don't Need to be any Hotter. in A New Beginning

And you know, it is mid-June, this is Delaware, and today is really not that hot compared to how it could be. But I’m done with it, I tell ya! Especially the bugs, anytime we take Guinness on a walk. Damn ol’ buzzin’ things around my head! I hate ‘em. Really, I like all animals except those. I even like most insects, I reckon, except those! Heck, I keep calling them “those” because I don’t know what the hell they are! They’re not bees. Bees buzz around flowers, not around my head! I guess most of them are in the “fly” category. I just hates ‘em.

We are having a dry time of it here too. Sister Sandy said that much of her grass is dead. Ours isn’t, but I sense crispness setting in! We really could use some rain! The forecast is storms for tonight, and I hope that means rain and not just a lot of thunder and heat lightning.

But I am not a Negative Nellie! I’ve been having a good time on this, my blessed, long-awaited summer break! This morning was the first day that Joe went to work and I didn’t have to! :o) Of course I got up with him. I have always done that. But around the time I would’ve left for work, I went back to bed for a morning nap. Gee the freedom to do that sure feels good!! Guinness went with me. When I do go to work, he goes down and hops up to lie on our bed anyway. I didn’t sleep, but I set the alarm for just-in-case! I had already made plans to go over to Sister Carol’s at 9 o’clock, so it was just about an hour lie-down.

Boy howdy, one of my last entries was about my newly-developed allergies, but I have found out that benadryl really works good! My eyes have hardly begged to be rubbed since the first one I took....and that sure makes it a lot easier to not rub them. ;o)

I have set two goals for myself this summer and today I started working toward both. Goal One is to read a book. That sounds pitiful as hell, I know! I used to be a real bookworm and could easily read a novel per day. But that was years ago. Honestly, I think my anti-anxiety med interfered with my power of concentration. (I guess it CAN, because that is one of the things my shrink always asks me about.) Plus, it is harder now for me to get physically comfortable enough to read for hours. And yea, there’s FB and PB too. Anyhow, I started reading a novel Sis loaned me today. She said she loved it, and we always have had very similar taste in novels, soooooo..... I only got to page 20, but at least I got somewhere!!

Goal two is cleaning out our spare bedroom! It has become a junkroom and BOY IS IT JUNKY! I want to get it all cleaned out so we can put a double bed in there and actually have a comfortable place for a guest to sleep. Today I got started. I took three armloads of junk out to the dumpster! I figure, if I can make 2 or 3 trips to our dumpster every weekday with crap from that room, it ought to be empty by the end of summer, easily. :o)

Welp, I’m gonna sign off now. It’s almost time for my favorite tv show, Jeopardy. I had to miss the last three nights of my show because a stupid golf tournament pre-empted it! I’m glad the golf tournament is over with now!
