A fitting retort in Deplorable thoughts

After the recent terrorist attack in the British capital,
the unpresidential American president,
in the most inappropriate and blatantly politically self-serving manner,
tweeted “Do you notice we are not having a gun debate right now?
That’s because they used knives and a truck!”

Hmmm…
Following the shooting near the American capital
Now seems to be the perfect time for the Mayor of London to make a point of his own.
It could read something like this.

“Did you notice the shooter in Virginia used a rifle?
That’s because you haven’t been having gun debate!”

The mayor of London could tweet something like that,
but he wouldn’t.
He’s got way more class than that.

(Not to mention more dignity,
more common decency
more sense of propriety,
more respect for the victims,
and a non-narcissist’s understanding that he is not the center of the universe
and not every occasion is an appropriate opportunity to attempt to further his personal political agenda.)
