Well, I’m glad I wrote about the date that I had with the financial advisor to get all y’alls read on it. Always, always helpful, so thank you.
Bottom line is, I am looking at other advisors and what they have to offer, but The Rock is still in the running because he was 100% professional in our second meeting and made me feel much, much more at ease in speaking with him. There were zero hints at anything beyond a professional relationship between us, and I have a feeling that’s because of my body language as well as my language-language.
Still haven’t given him any copies of my documents or anything, but I do actually like his gung-ho-ness. He’s definitely about making things happen. He has a system of the people I need to speak with and I don’t feel like he’ll be screwy with my money like my current guy is. PLUS, he told me that at ANY TIME if I don’t feel comfortable, I can always, always back out of any of the accounts and investments and programs that he has me in. He will make sure that my investments are flexible like that. He will make sure that I understand what’s happening. I like that.
So. I do have inquiries in with other FAs and I’m working through that, so the more I talk with people the more comfortable I’m getting with figuring out what to even ask. I know this is boring stuff, but not to me, and it makes me feel better to write it out, so there.
But all of that is going to have to wait now until after Italy, because it’s just about all I can think about.
Maria and I are texting back and forth daily with wardrobe questions, events, dinners, friends, dates, etc. I know it’s all going to be fast and furious, but I really want to make sure we slow down and enjoy. I think we’re completely on the same page with not wanting to overbook ourselves, so we are playing most of it by ear.
We will have Thursday to ourselves, which will be great to get from Rome to Florence via train, get our bearings and maybe get out and rub elbows with the locals. We’ll have all day Friday with Giorgio, Maria’s friend who lives in Florence. He’s kind of famous (more on him later after I meet him and really understand what he’s all about). He’s supposed to take us to some wineries in Tuscany and then to dinner on Friday night. And then we’re free for the weekend until Monday when we take the train back to Rome, do some shopping and hopefully, an amazing dinner and evening and then fly back on Tuesday.
And that’s it! A good, long weekend.
I’m already thinking about where I want to go for my BIRTHDAY in October. Where should I go????? Someplace easy to travel to, and I’m thinking maybe solo again.
Regardless, having a decent day in the office today. Got some shit done. Didn’t get other shit done. Had one of those reviews where I had to present a project for a go/no-go type deal, and the people who have all the say (Executive Team) didn’t show up, so guess what? I go!
Oh, and if it rains on Sunday, guess who I’m brunching with? That’s right: Bachelor Party Marty. He currently has plans to go boating, but he said if it rains, we should go to brunch. He’d originally asked me to go on Saturday, but I told him I had plans (fib) and asked him about Sunday. I don’t really feel like a back-up plan because if it’s sunny then I can be doing other stuff. But if it rains…perhaps I’ll be backing something else up!! Heh.
Can somebody do a rain dance for me? ;)
