Walls so Tall in My Poetry Slams

If the whispers lit upon you, light as a feather but twice as bitter
If bliss found you blind and opened your eyes
Could you find love again?

I thought love was dead
But it just needs another shot
Here’s the wind-up
But never the pitch

Think a thought and then it’s gone
Like a heart worn on the sleeve,
Always found but never seen

Walls so tall you thought they’d never fall
But here you are, building doors
Willing to give it all one more chance
Will you be who I’ve been waiting for?
