Coloring Outside the Lines! in A New Beginning

On Saturday, Joe and I were gone all day, to an event up in Springfield, PA called Spring Magick. We took our NAL fundraising store there. It was a day of classes and workshops and rituals, culminating in our annual Ritual to the Stag God Cernunnos.

Before that ritual, I took part in another ritual called Opening to the Anima Mundi. The Anima Mundi is the soul of the world. Each of us has an individual soul, plus we are all part of that greater one. Part of the ritual involved each of us going up to the altar in the temple of the anima mundi and lighting a candle and seeing if any insight came to us about the part we are meant to be playing in caring for It/helping It care for all of us.

As I chose a candle to light, the words “coloring outside the lines” popped into my head. That is something we need people to do (though we also need people who color inside the lines!), and it is what I do I think. I follow rules that make sense to me (coloring inside the lines), but other times I do things my own way (coloring outside the lines), and I can show others when it is a good idea to do this, and how to do it in a good way.

Because a person could color outside the lines and just make a big mess, it’s true. BUT a person could also color outside the lines and end up creating a great picture! Because there’s always more than one good picture.....the one that is inside the lines, and myriad ones that can be made outside them.

My leg(s) and ass are starting to get achy again from the spinal stenosis, but it still doesn’t keep me from doing things and having a good time. Both the rituals I took part in on Saturday included dancing, and I could dance! :o) A couple years ago, before I found effective treatment for my spinal stenosis, I was afraid I would never be able to dance again, but see what good finding an effective treatment can do! I’m glad I persisted.

Since we were gone alllllllllllll day on Saturday, from before 6 a.m. until 10 p.m., I did not even concern myself with trying to see either of my sisters on Sunday. I needed to go get a few groceries and then spend the rest of the day catching up on things here and RESTING. This bit about them not being able to get along, and me having to see them separately if I want to ENJOY seeing each of them, gets very old. If I had more time, it wouldn’t, but my time is pretty limited right now!! Ya know, personally, since they both love me, I think it’d just be really damn nice if both of them would just resolve to get along together FOR MY SAKE. It would be great for THEIR sakes too, but neither one of ‘em seems to care about that!

The last two days of last week, and all of this week, I am having to be at work earlier than my usual, and do another person’s job. One thing I have to do is bake cookies. Now we no longer bake them from scratch; we don’t have time to. I just lay out frozen cookie dough cookies and bake them. BUT, lest this sound too incredibly easy, let me tell you that I bake about 312 a day, and after they are baked and cooled they have to be put into little individual plastic cookie bags, which is a real pain-in-the-ass. And sometimes people HELP Lori put the cookies in bags, but lemme tellya....NOBODY IS HELPING ME. Granted, so far every morning everybody has been busy doing other things that had to be done. If there would ever be a day when SOMEONE, ANYONE has time, then someone might put a few cookies into bags for me. But right now I am extremely weary of COOKIES!!!!! I have gotten so many done, though, that tomorrow I do not have to bake cookies, AND I AM NOT GOING TO!!!!!
