A Good Day for a Good Day in These Foolish Things

Excerpt from today’s horoscope:

Insist on having a good day no matter what, and refuse to get distracted by drama. An influential person may notice your positive spark and open doors for you.

So. There you have it. I’m having a good day, dammit. None of these mofos gonna get me down today!

Started the weekend off GREAT when, during a horrid Friday afternoon budget meeting, our CEO sent an email titled “Weather Emergency” - when opened it said basically that it’s been a long few weeks and that everyone needs to clear out the building at 3pm to go outside and enjoy the weather. I have never loved an extra two hours more in my life. How crazy is that? It was so nice outside that I went and picked up the dog early at her daycare and we went to sit outside on a nice patio and had a glass of bubbly rose and a sinful lamb and goat cheese flatbread.

Oh! And during my lovely, lovely solo (well, with the dog) evening, I got texts from Bachelor Party Marty (he bought a house!!) and a dude that my friend Barbi’s BF is trying to set me up with, and…things may be looking interesting soon. Maybe. More to follow, I hope.

New diet started on Saturday. Made it to the farmers market after an incredibly lazy morning. Seriously, I let the dog sleep until noon basically (yes, that’s an excuse for lazing in bed until noon myself!), and then we went out and conquered the day. Sort of.

All weekend, I knew I’d need to get my presentation put together for my “special event” (aka. interview) this coming weekend, but I procrastinated a bit and ran my errands and goofed around on Saturday - even watched a couple of movies on Netflix…which, by the way, if you want to see a stunningly heartbreaking movie that will stick with you for days and days, watch A Single Man, which is directed by Tom Ford, so you know it’s all kinds of gloriously fashion-y.

Anyway. Though I had a lot of thoughts about how I wanted to put together this presentation, I somehow ended up finally sitting up in bed on Sunday morning, just starting to pull the pieces together. It was a rainy morning, which made it all the more perfect. I drank coffee and put those ideas to PowerPoint via images and words and outlines and visuals. This is how I roll. This is how I work.

Still needs a bit of tweaking and a bit more imagery, but I think I have a pretty good presentation pulled together. I emailed it to Fred, who ended up not being able to talk last night (we were going to go over the game plan on Sunday night…the schedule of events that will be taking place on Friday as well as what I’ve put together).

OK. Better run. I have one more meeting before day’s end and then I want to roll out of here. The day is just so beautiful.

See? Good day!

xox,
GS
