Tuesday Bluesday in These Foolish Things

It’s a dreary Tuesday, and I’ve been plugging away at my desk trying to get stuff done after the big trade show. Yes, there’s a lot to do. No, I still don’t know if I’m the one who put my foot in my mouth in front of or TO the CEO’s face. I will tell you something, it’s got me worried, but what can be done. What’s done is done.

Reputations are an important part of credibility. I saw a quote as I scrolled through Instagram last night, and now I can’t find it, but it’s something like…your reputation is more important than the work that you do. Do you agree with this? Basically, if you bust your ass to put out good work, but people see you dressed like a schlub, looking like you don’t give a shit, moaning and complaining about stuff (ahem, Negative C.), then your excellent work may not mean as much. Make sense?

BREAKING NEWS:

It wasn’t me! Hah! I step in shit at pretty much every corner and do have a tendency to occasionally place my foot squarely in my mouth, but this time I was NOT the asshole who said something stupid in front of/to the CEO. Thank goodness!!

It was actually the hot shot little shit that Boss hired to be my peer, and he’s all of about 25 years old and just a jerky little show-off. AND it was Brown Nosey!!! YES!

The two of them were talking with the CEO and complaining about someone (whom I don’t like either…but that’s another story), but they were basically trying to undermine him in front of her. They were blatantly trying to get him fired or at least talking smack about him to put him in a horrible position in her eyes.

This is a toxic environment, folks. It’s no wonder I don’t like to come into this office.

I’ve been thinking and thinking about following my dreams. Now’s the time to do it. But what exactly ARE my dreams? I like fashion and I like Champagne and I LOVE travel and…how is this going to support me for the rest of my career?

I have a lot of thinking to do. I’m ready for different days. I’m so tired of these dreary ones.

Off to meetings with these jerk-offs.

xox,
GS
