Alternative Facts in These Foolish Things

You guys, I’m really and truly concerned for our country if the biggest thing the President is concerned about is who’s crowd was bigger. It’s like a contest of penis sizes and the country is now more divided than ever. How can we get behind a president who is so clearly a liar? What can we trust? Nothing.

Meanwhile, while he’s telling us to look…look at the crowds…he’s doing shady stuff while we’re looking the other way. I mean, seriously? Are we even going to BE here in four years? This guy is our LEADER!!?? Then lead us. And not into a dick contest.

And the divide gets bigger and bigger as people get angrier and angrier. These are scary times. What’s going to become of us?

And while I want to just get off the social media because it makes me so upset, I can hardly look away from the train wreck. Plus, I feel like I need to know what’s going on, however, I don’t know what/who to trust.

Anyway. I’m upset, but there’s no use arguing when both sides are digging heels in stronger and harder. It’s all so incredibly disheartening.

So what can I do but focus on bettering myself and my world around me. I want to be able to touch others in a small but significant way. It’s time.

Our brunch club (the one Athena and I co-host) now has a small but focused charity angle to it that will benefit women trying to get on their feet - be it from domestic issues, getting out of prison, homelessness, whatever. I’m looking forward to our first brunch of the year this Saturday. And I’ll be sober at this one as well. :)

Speaking of sober, the Whole Life Challenge rolls on. I made it through the weekend with only one small ding - on Saturday I ate a little bit of couscous, thinking it was on the list of acceptable foods. But I guess I got that and quinoa mixed up. Quinoa is on the acceptable list, couscous is not. Oh well. Honest mistake.

I continue to exercise, but not really losing weight. I’ve been up and down the same few pounds since around Thanksgiving and I guess before. I really wasn’t happy with where I was on my France trip, but I was also letting myself indulge in the bubbles and the macarons and the steak frites and ohhhhhhhhh the cheeeeeesseee and the baguettes. Oh yum. Oh yum.

Le sigh. Those were the days, weren’t they?

Moving on.

I wish I had some other exciting stories to tell you right now, but I must get prepped for a conference call with a super hot TV star who shall remain anonymous, but who is also kind of a pain in the butt. I get it…we’re trying to design a line of products for him, by him, and about him, but sheesh…these stars are so picky! ;)

Have as wonderful a Monday as you possibly can, my loves. And don’t forget: alternative facts are fabrications.
