So a couple of weeks back we had our inaugural tree planting. Joined and ably assisted by family and friends as we picnicked at the Lazy Square, The field.....

Two gardening adages came to mind as we were putting the trees into their new home.

To plant a tree is to believe in tomorrow

And
A society grows great when old men (and women) plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.”

Our thanks to Stephanie, James, Mike, Kate, Robert and Kay who willingly joined us for the day. And for Kay who wrote and recited such a special poem for us. It will have pride of place on a wall of the house when we finally get there ;0)

And to family and friends from across the globe who were and are with us in spirit ;0) and never once telling us we must be mad to do such a thing. At our old age ;0)
