Today was a pretty decent day.
Got up and started clearing out my little storage space so that I could get my Christmas decorations out. Turned into a massive project that’s still not quite done. I’ll have to get up early to get my mess put up and then get out the Christmas stuff and put it up tomorrow.
Walked over to a fun part of town just outside of the city center to do a mimosa walk in celebration of Shop Local Saturday. Really, I just wanted the mimosas. And I guess, so did everyone else!
It started at noon, and I got there to a line wrapping all the way around the corner where people pick up their special mimosa glasses. I’d already pre-purchased a ticket, which got me a glass, but I still had to wait in line to pick it up. Luckily the line was short and everyone was in a festive mood.
The first couple places were art galleries. Packed! Crowded as hell, and I’d brought the dog, so it was hard to walk, look and drink my mimosa with so many people crowding around.
Plus, how would I even carry a large piece of art home anyway? I ended up just walking and talking with a few folks and then ended up at the Asian noodle place where I had some amazing soup dumplings! YUM!
Then back out to look around at some other places that were along the walk. It was weird…there was a salon that was participating (serving mimosas, but not selling anything), and a burlesque dance place…I guess you could buy burlesque dancing classes as a gift? Or I guess, styling gift certificates or something? Regardless, it was just a really nice walk with the dog and some yummy mimosas.
Home to take a nap!
Got up and made some cookies and cleaned more stuff out of the storage space. Did a lot of organizing of my financial papers…so crazy that I get so much investment mail that I never open it. So I did all that and filed a bunch of stuff away and made plans to get more stuff done tomorrow.
Tomorrow, I’ll do more straightening, put up Christmas deco, go see a condo, go to the grocery to get stuff to make a week’s worth of dinners and then I guess, prep to go back to work after the long weekend.
It’s been a nice day. I’m alone and slightly lonely, but I’m certainly not sad. I mean, it’s the holidays, but I guess I’m used to being alone during the holidays now. I’d like to share them with someone, but not just anyone, you know.
So I guess I’ll go to bed now.
