HOLY CRAP in 2016

I’ve been gone so long that everything changed lol

It looks good tho.

I suppose I should just do a quick recap!

Marriage:

So nothing much has been going on these last few weeks. Chris is still suffering from his concussion. There is a place in the city that is willing to take a look at him and they think they can help with a bit of chiropractic stuff… I’m hoping it helps. Its been a downhill slope since August.

I mean, not every day is harder but there are more bad days than good. His dizziness comes and goes but his whole body aches seem to be every night. The more pain killers he takes, the more his stomach aches. Our hospital here is totally useless and they can’t seem to help him whatsoever. I’m thinking that they think hes just after drugs.

So many sleepless nights its unreal. And if HE isn’t sleeping, I’m not sleeping. I don’t know where to go from here because now his mental health is deteriorating. Before it was just physical with promises of an eventual recovery, which, the promises of eventual recovery are still there but his mental state is going down the pooper.... and whos wouldn’t??? He can’t sleep, he has chronic pain now… dizziness, forgetfulness, mood swings… its just terrible.

I’m doing my best and trying to be understanding of the situation but at times I snap! Especially since he wont continue to go back to the hospital. Then again at the same time I realize why he wont go… he thinks its all for nothing… which at this point it is. But maybe just maybe if he keeps going back and back and back, they’ll finally just say OK we will refer you to someone who will actually take care of you.

I’m starting to get really REALLY scared. Hes alive and I’m happy hes alive but who would have thought that the accident would have such lasting effects :(

The kids :
Kids are kids, one is more annoying than the other. Thats all.

I work at a personal injury law firm, and I see this all the time. Even when accidents aren't very "bad" (as far as property damage is concerned, which I know was not the case here), the lasting effects of a concussion can last 12-15 months sometimes. It is not something to mess around with. Is it possible that he could get in to see a neurologist?

I really wish he would keep harassing the doctors here so that maybe they could put in a referral.

Exactly! Couldn't he even call there and just say, "Look, I don't have a PCP, but I'm still having issues. I've come in many times, nothing has changed. Could I have a referral to see a concussion specialist?" If not, he could just go one more time and explain what he's been through already. They wouldn't want him to keep coming in if they can't help it, and would do anything to not to have to deal with it anymore. You would think, at least. Maybe another visit being a huge asshole accompanied by his raging bitch of a wife? The squeaky wheel gets the grease, but it sucks that people have to act like that to get results.

A visit with a neurologist would be good for him. Head injuries are tricky. My sister almost died in a car accident and had a head injury from it. I remember the doctor telling my parents that it might be years before some of the symptoms would clear up. Eventually things did get back to normal for her.
