I know that some of my past entries are pretty contradictory. It's not that anything changed between the entries. I'm just feeling very contradictory.
We missed the bus today because there was a pep rally. (It always happens.) So we called Tom and he drove Molly, Dave and me downtown. We drove around for a while and argued about where we should eat. (Tom is a terrible driver, by the way.) We finally decided on what I'm pretty sure was the most illogical option available: buying a pie and bottles of yuppie soda at the Organic Grocery Store, bringing them to the lawn in front of the (temporarily abandoned) prep school in our town, and having a picnic in the snow under a sculpture which all the prep kids say is a phallic symbol.
Yep. It was really wierd. I'm not sure how we came up with it.
We played the awkward game as we sat there. Tom almost always won. "Wow, you're really good at the awkward game," said Dave once after he beat him.
"I'm secure in my masculinity. Are you?"
"I'm secure in your masculinity Tom," said Molly, touching him. We all laughed. It went on like that. Dave made more boner jokes. We made fun of Adam. Molly brought up the fact that Tom and I used to "go out." Awkward all around. But ridiculously fun. The most fun I've had in a while. We were wierd and spontaneous, we broke several minor laws, and our conversation was a string of extremely suggestive jokes, one after the other. In short, we were the stereotypical "young people these days."
"I love being a teenager," said Dave in the car. I suppose it does have it's up sides.
I've missed Tom. I haven't really seen him in a while.
We hung around at the library after we ate the pie. We saw Schultz and Noah (who is also very good at the awkward game) and I got my Charlie Parker CDs, along with "Ascention" by John Coltrane. Okay, wierdest piece of music ever. I am torn between thinking it's the coolest, most original thing I've ever heard and thinking it's not music.
This entry would be longer, but I need to go practice. I still kind of don't know how to play that music I have to play in... an hour.
