I suppose this is a necessary update. It is common knowledge now within the band that some time ago, Greg hit Ani on the bus. Brett, the quad player who got kicked out last year, told him that if he ever hit her again, it would be the last thing he ever did. (I imagine that this was partially feuled by the fact that Greg is an absolute tyrant within the drum line. He is verbally abusive to almost all of his underlings, especially the freshmen cymbol players.) Greg threw a punch at him, and it turned into a full fledged fight, which Joe broke up. (Good for him - stepping in and breaking up a fight when he's only a freshman.) Greg and Ani are still together, (of course) and things seemed fine at the band related party which Greg volunteered to throw. But there is still obvious tension now between Greg and... Well, everyone.
Therefor, we have no band. Greg is fully aware of the tension, and he quit. I called Julian to tell him this morning. He said "That's too bad" about three times, sounding slightly crushed, and hung up rather quickly. I hate how awkward I am over the phone.
I'd like to point out that I was not up and dressed today until fully one o'clock. And it's not like I don't have work to do. I am so lazy. Seriously, at this rate, I am going to end up as a corporate wage slave, or a French teacher, or like, the last third trombone in some second rate symphony.
Okay okay. Reading King Lear. Or rather, reading the Spark Notes for King Lear.
