Two Des Moines Police Officers Ambushed and Slaughtered
After this election, can we try to find common ground with other people? Is it possible to come together as communities and focus on support, lifting up, and finding strength in each other? Really tired of constant divisions. Really tired of constant Us v. Them. Really tired of seeing violence and hatred thrive while conversation and peace struggle. Or is that too idealistic a hope?
That isn’t because Officers were killed. And, it should be known, that the Ambusher was white. So this isn’t about race. And that is my point, I guess. The violence, the hatred, the evil… it infects everywhere and everyone. It doesn’t matter who you define as THEM… especially when there are so many reasons to define a broad set as US. We all have more in common than different.
Why do hatred and evil win when it takes so little for understanding to thrive?

Humans are a violent species . We kill for sport and we seem to live for violence. There is a large section of the population that is just evil or so it appears. The only reason we have survived this long is that no superior species has managed to decimate us and I am not sure that is a good thing:-( We hurt and kill each other and our environment without qualm. I have a sick feeling the future will not be kind to us and we deserve what we get . I know not everyone is like this but too many are .
