11.1 Where Are the Prompts? in These Foolish Things

Gonna try to write an entry a day again this year. I don’t know where the prompts are, but I’m just going to tap out an entry because I’m procrastinating packing for my trip that starts tomorrow after work.

I’m meeting Elaine Benes in Tennessee tomorrow night! She’s taking a road trip and I’m meeting her there to ride the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee/N. Carolina. It’s a wind-y, twisty turn-y mountain pass, and I’ve done it before on the back of a motorcycle…because I was insane(ly) in love with Sexy Pants at the time. I don’t think I would ever do this ride on the back of a motorcycle again…so dangerous. But in a Porsche? Hell yes.

I’m also going to see my crazy (literally) old roomie. We were in the flag corps together at the U of TN back in our college days. We are going to be waving flags together at the homecoming game halftime show! We are also meeting a couple of other ol’ flag girls there.

It’s gonna be weird, lemme tell ya, but weird will be good, I think. I think this woman is a wack-a-doodle and a half and certifiably koo koo. Now, I know that’s mean, but it really is true. But you guys, this chick is brilliantly smart and I’m absolutely curious about seeing her again and learning about her little sister who died recently and what’s been going on in her life. She’s currently on a three-week trip all over France (mostly) and I’m also dying to hear about her trip. I think she may even come back engaged, so I’m also anxious to hear about her man and how they met and all that stuff.

Bottom line, I want to catch up with her. Do I think it will spawn a new-found BFF situation, no way, but I think it will help me understand some of that weirdness that happened between us.

Or not. We’ll just see, won’t we?

So. I’ve got drafts written about the end of my France trip. Will I ever finish? Will you ever find out about all of the scandalous things that I did at the end of my trip?! Again, you’ll have to wait and see!

But for now, I need to go pack for my trip. Looks like there will be some warm weather and some cool weather (especially in the mountains!) and some rain…and a football game! No wonder I’m procrastinating. How the hell am I supposed to pack for that?

Work is kicking my ass something terrible. I may not have a job when I come back, so I guess I’m just going to have to blow this mini-vacation out, eh?

OK. I better roll for now.

Catch you tomorrow, probably from the airplane…though I don’t think this plane will have internet.

Anyway, happy November!

xo,
GS
