I’m tired and have busted ass today to get two presentations ready (one for a meeting with a celebrity in my industry today in our office and one for buyers of a large chain of specialty stores). I have yet one more meeting today, but I’m drained and kind of hope I can cancel it. We’ll see. It’s a 4-5 pm meeting. The worst (even though I was the one who scheduled it!).
The first meeting with the celebrity (he’s a TV celeb and author with a show related to my industry - we’re working on licensed products of his “brand” to sell to all kinds of retailers) went well. I knew it would because I’d already heard feedback from him. I enjoyed this meeting because the stuff we presented was so much fun to design and even more fun to show! This is the kind of stuff that I live for at this job.
The second meeting was with a large chain of stores and I like these folks, but I absolutely loathe the salesperson who calls on them. She has an opinion about everything and it’s never, EVER a good one.
I ditched her meeting. Ha! Just didn’t even show.
But there IS a reason I ditched it and it was because the celeb meeting was running long and my portion of the meeting overlapped Whore-Cunt’s meeting (excuse my French, but I cun’t help it).
So look, if you want me to give a presentation to your customer in a tight timeframe, I suggest you not be a total douche during the day leading up to the meeting. I suggest you don’t stand over my shoulder while I work on a project that has NOTHING to do with your customer and critique everything I am working on. I suggest you at least be a little nice.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a 4:00 meeting to try and get out of.
xo,
GS
