In solidarity with joey not drinking, I also said I would not drink in the week.
To be honest, I’m not a big drinker anyway. Don’t get me wrong, I did all the underage binge drinking that is expected of an English teen, and I love a good cocktail with the girls, although admittedly that has more to do with catching up with the girls than needing the booze, I’d be just as happy spending a night in with them with a Chinese and a film.
However, we’ve said we’ll only drink at the weekend, and then not to excess. Which is all good and well but what happens when I have to work weekends? As in this weekend, nights start Thursday and finish Monday morning. I don’t get to have a drink at all, because my boyfriend has no self control.
I know, I know, it’s such a first world problem, and it won’t kill me to not have a glass of wine, but I swear to god he had better appreciate the things I go through for him to make him feel supported. He’d best return the favour when the time comes.
