A "sip" of water in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

is allowed to take my medicine in the morning before I go for my stress test. :-( That is it. No coffee. Oh my gosh! No COFFEE in the morning is horrid!! I suppose I’ll survive. With a headache before noon. sigh I’ll survive. I’ll really be glad when tomorrow is over with and to see if the stress test reveals anything. The pain is becoming annoying although it doesn’t happen all the time, it is happening enough for me to want it to be gone, forever! I even took some of the nitroglycerin pills dad gave me. Wasn’t sure they actually helped or if the spell was just over. My sister also mention gall bladder attack. If the stress test doesn’t show any issues, then I’ll mention gall bladder to the doctor. This must cease!! I’m not getting near as much done as I’d like to or need to. There is a nagging feeling that I need to not over do it and by golly I seem to be doing a fine job at that right now. *sigh

So Saturday I decided to make a from scratch peach pie. Not only did I use fresh peaches, but I also made pie crusts which I haven’t done in no telling how long. My pie crusts are usually pretty lame but this time it turned out great. It was pretty when it was baked too which has to be a first for me. I even took a picture of it after I took it out of the oven for me to make sure I hadn’t imagined it looked good. lol

Sunday I went to SS and church and took a look see at the new addition that is being built. It is very nice and gives a lot more room for dinners and various other activities we want to host. I was a bit taken aback by the size of the pastor study. Why on earth would he need that large of an area? Whatever. I suppose it was approved to be that large at one of the building meetings I missed. But gracious!! If he was bringing in the sheaves, so to speak, then maybe. Na, not even if he was should that much space be dedicated to a 3 time a week pastor. Moving on.

I called Dad for Father’s Day that morning and since I was leaving the afternoon “open” for either my brother or sister to do something for Dad, I hadn’t planned anything for the afternoon. I got a bit nervous about 3pm and thought, what if neither one of them......so I called him and he didn’t answer, which was a good sign. He had gone to my sister’s for supper and home made ice cream. Yum. Cept he is lactose intolerant. ;) Oh well, I’m sure he did ok as his and mine are similar in that sometimes it hurts and other times, not. Guess brother called him after he’d accepted sis’s invite so thankfully both siblings did their part. Sometimes I wonder if they remember there are THREE of us within just a couple of miles from him. Brother lives the closest of all of us and that’s all I’m going to say on that.

There was a meeting scheduled last night for our WS board, but there wasn’t going to be enough of us able to be there to have a quorum, so it was postponed until our regular July meeting. I was relived as I wasn’t feeling like driving that far, but still had to go to Walmart to get milk and a couple of other items. I think those other items made my total bill $80+.

As I was pulling into the parking lot at Walmart there was a county Sherriff’s car with two uniformed police getting out and going inside. That really isn’t that unusual so I didn’t think too much about it until I was heading to the milk area and a very tall officer was escorting a handcuffed young man with swollen from crying eyes down the aisle. I recognized him as one of the most pleasant checkers they have/had there and I can’t get that sight out of my thoughts nor what caused his arrest. I am really worried about this young man, and can’t explain why but I just keep praying for him and that he hasn’t done something so horrific to ruin his future. He was such a pleasure to chat with while checking out and he seemed to be so very sincere in his helpfulness. I will see if I can find out what caused his arrest and you know, I think I would go visit him in jail, but I don’t know the kids name. I’m going to see if my DIL happens to know anything, since she oversee’s stocking a product for a vendor there.

I watered early this morning and was hoping for some rain showers, but nothing so far and not sure we’ll receive anything. The temperatures are going to rise a bit higher every day and they believe it could hit 100 by the weekend. YUCK!! I do know that the 90s aren’t so bad when the humidity factor is low, but when it isn’t, the high 70’s are uncomfortable. All of the veggies now have baby veggies developing on them. I didn’t think the cucumbers had any yesterday, but this morning I saw they were starting to form. I get so excited to see thing continue to mature. I also discovered that the sweet corn it beginning to grow out the tassel part and that made me very excited. I must keep the raccoons from getting any of the corn! I will start making some repellent soon and if I have I’ll buy stuff to put an electric fence around it. Well maybe not, but I’m sure thinking about it.

I don’t know that I’ll write again until after the stress test and not sure how tired or if I’ll be tired afterwards. Wished I would have remembered to ask them how long it was going to take. Seems like years ago when I had one, they gave you the glow in dark stuff, tested, had you go away for a couple of hours, then tested again. Not sure I’m remembering that correctly and I’m sure it has changed since then but just wondering. I’ve uploaded a couple of books to my phone in case I have time to waste during the process.

I’m really liking getting back into reading. I think I’ve read at least 3 and maybe 4 books that I downloaded for free on my phone and then set up the laptop so I can read on either electronic gadget. The coolest thing ever, is, it knows what page I was on whether I read from the phone and then go to the laptop. I think that is so neat. Yet, a little creepy too. You know, that means there is communication between devices without the user ever doing anything. Yep, a little creepy but I also appreciated not having to find the last place I was reading.

Going to end this entry for today. Take care and God Bless

The stress before the stress test sounds worse than the test itself.
What? No picture of the pie??
Mom has promised me a blueberry pie next week. In exchange, I promised her scones.

I swish water in my mouth and spit it out on nights when I can't have food or water after 8 PM. It helps.
That peach pie sounds WONDERFUL!!!
Best of luck on the stress test.

I have done the stress test several times. You will feel weak after. I would have someone drive you there if you can. The pain is not good so am glad you go tomorrow. If anything shows up they will address it right away.

I'm wondering where the picture of the pie is? Also recipe?
Good luck with the stress test. Hopefully all will be well and you can get back to regular routines very very soon.

I hope your test went well and glad your siblings contacted dad for fathers day. Sunday was my mom and dads wedding anniversary, I think I am the only one who remembered. of course I don't talk to evil and Kid, well told her but you know it is too much to call my mom.

gall bladder attack.... in the beginning, it's not an all the time pain. it's just under your rib cage on the right side and it goes all the way thru to the back and feels like a knife in the back. the pain comes and goes. eventually, it will get to where it's all the time and it will just get worse. it will eventually burst and then, you'll be in big trouble. so, if the stress test shows nothing, please have your doctor look into your gall bladder. he will order an ultrasound and if that's what it is, you'll see lots of little round images in your gall bladder. prayers the doctor can figure out what's causing your pain. take care,

I love to read but typically I can't get in the mood to read. I am reading a book now that I abstained about 6 years ago. Pretty good book. Called Daughter of the Yellow River. It is a biography and motivational at the same time.
