Better late than never! This date was nearly a week ago. I started this entry on the plane bound for my biz trip this week. The trip has been absolutely insane - my presentation materials shipping to California instead of Arizona…trucks having to backtrack, drivers refusing to unload the truck, bribing total strangers with alcohol to help us unload a truck at 11:00 at night! Yes, it’s been THAT kind of trip. Anyway, I started to write about BPM, and I wanted to make sure to get this RAD out, so, here’s what I got.
Sorry to get things out of order. If you’re reading along in sequence, this date that I’m rating actually happened on FRIDAY night. The previous entry was about SATURDAY night. I still wanted to get this out there so I can read back about the time that I went out with the smoking hot young, YOUNG stud of a specimen.
So, without further ado…
Name: Bachelor Party Marty
Age: 31. Yes, that’s right. He’s seventeen years younger than me!
Status: Single. SINGLE! Never married single! Not divorced-single. Innocently single!
Job: Some kind of real estate somethingorother…
Lives: In this fairly newly gentrified, hip part of town that I need to visit more often.
Length of Date: 4.5 hours
He Looked: Dude is smoking hot. He could have been wearing nothing but a bathrobe for all I care - he is so cute to view. He’s tall, tall. Like maybe 6‘4”, dark hair (with a wee little bald spot!), olive skin. His mother is Spanish (from Spain) and his father is Belgian. Le Sigh. He is one delicious mix.
We Did: Walked our doggies! I asked him if he wanted to take his new puppy on a walk to the trail with me and my puppy. He was all about it! So we did this thing where we’d start walking and then we’d stop at little places along our walk. First, a tacqueria to get the dogs some water and margaritas for us, and then the outdoor patio bar on the trail, where we stopped for another drink…and then a snack…and some PDA, which included smooching, hand-holding and more smooching. It got late, so we never finished walking the dogs. Instead, we got a Lyft back to where he’d parked. He asked me if I wanted to continue to “hang out”, which took me a second to understand that it meant “your place or mine”!!! I told him that I needed to go home and go to bed because I had an early day in the morning (semi-lie). I wouldn’t have known what to do with this dude. Okay, that’s an OUTRIGHT lie. I just, well…I just couldn’t at that moment. Not to say I won’t someday.
First Impression: Not really my very first impression of him. I’ve already had two impressions of him, so this would be my third impression, which is the BEST impression I’ve had of him so far. Unlike the last two times we’ve met, he was alone this time. He also refused to let me pay for any drinks or the snacks or the ride home. This was like a real, real date and I didn’t even realize it until he touched the small of my back while we were standing in line at the taqueria.
High Point: Realizing that this was a date!
Low Point: Realizing that it’s probably not realistic for me to date him.
How It Ended: The Lyft ride back. I should have done something more noteworthy. I will certainly think twice about “hanging out” the next time.
Chances Are: I hope, I hope!
