Exciting week in In the Kingdom of Suzu

It has been quite the week here in my town. Some good but most, OMG!

To start with, the fridge came Friday and fit perfectly. It is very quiet. The best feature of it, according to Jeff, is the light in the freezer! Of course he had to ruin things by saying he wondered what would go wrong next and something did! Tuesday early morning, I discovered that our hot water tank was leaking! We still had hot water and the floor would show wet and then dry up. jeff saw that the pipe that connects to the heater itself had a hole in it. Our plumber came today and fixed what he could and said it looked almost like the inside had collapsed on itself which he has known to happen but it is rare. Anyway, the heater is only a few years old and our plumber had put it in. He is going to check with the manufacturer and then we will take it from there.

My doctor appointments went well, I will keep seeing the breast surgeon every six months for five years, for some reason I thought it was going to once a year, but that is ok, I don’t mind seeing her every six months.

Set up the next fat grafting for March 11 and hopefully that will be the last one. After that comes nipple reconstruction, done in the hospital and then the tattooing in the office. Hoping that by November–two years from initial surgery, I will be finished.

Now for the real exciting news.

Saturday night we hear three loud bangs, Jeff said it sounded like gun shots, we look out the window but see nothing. Sunday around 3 in the afternoon, we go out and lo and behold catty corner to our house, we see police cars at that house and yellow crime scene tape going up! Cannot find out anything more until the wee hours in the morning to find out that in the apartment building next to the corner house, they found a female body and n a recycled bin! More details emerge, an Asian woman between the ages of 19 to 30, shot multiple times, looking for someone to identify her.

The next night, Jeff gets up during the night to use the bathroom and for some reason looks out the window. About two blocks away, he can see cop cars at another apartment building. Turns out, cops had gone there to serve a warrant on a man who lived in one of the apartments in connection with Sunday’s homicide. The guy shoots one of the cops in the arm, is wounded himself and currently is in critical condition. A neighbor man who is interviewed, states that he slightly knew the man and he had a woman companion who he hasn’t seen. Tonight, they identified the woman—she was 59 and definitely does not have an Asian name but she does look Asian. Still have ot named the suspect, am thinking it was a domestic situation.

One last exciting event this week----my BIL works for a sanitation company in NJ. Tuesday night there was an explosion and fire and it all burned down!
