Silver lining to the snow in In the Kingdom of Suzu

Our refrigerator went bust----luckily we had an ice chest already out and empty in the sun room. We put snow in it and put the freezer stuff in it. The stuff in the fridge can go in the sun room and I will be baking a lot! This is one time when I am glad the sun room is not heated, we just have to make sure the stuff doesn’t freeze! We should be good until Monday when we can go out and look for a fridge. Temps are supposed to stay in the low 30s into the beginning of next week.

Another good thing is, I had a lot of “surprise” packages in the freezer that I just dumped and some stuff that was old. I don’t think we will lose much, the stuff we do lose is stuff that won’t really matter much, like those bits of salad dressings, the odd pickle and other condiments that you use one time and then it just sits but just can’t bring yourself to toss because you just might need that.

Oh yes, just saw that my county is in a blizzard condition until 3 a.m.! So glad this is on the weekend because the courthouse doesn’t close so you know what that would have meant—at least we will be able to be somewhat shoveled out by Monday.
