Perfection in All Good Things

There's a reason why the finale of Swan Lake in Black Swan is titled Perfection. And there's a reason why Nina dies at the end of it. It has nothing to do with the end of Nina's story (well, obviously it does) but on a grander scale, when we are granted a moment of total perfection like that, there is no better time to die. In fact, it's like a death on its own, because you know nothing, nothing, will ever surpass the way you feel right at that moment.
That is the way I feel every time I watch Jonathan O. dance. Especially if it's Swan Lake - especially now I've seen him as the Swan.
I can't believe I lost ten years of this. I can't believe he can still dance like that at 36. I can't believe I might never see him dance again.
