Ginge-A-Thon Day 10* in These Foolish Things

Today marks one year since I got my baby puppy, Martini. What a life changer she has been! I love her like she’s my own child, to the annoyance of some, I’m sure. But I really am so happy to have her in my life. We are both very, very lucky.

I took her to doggy daycare today. The staff tells me she’s been trying to sneak out. Apparently, today she snuck over to the big dog area. My little rough and tumble girl! She’s super tiny and those big dogs could probably eat her in one fell swoop! They have some big ol’ rough guys at my daycare. After all, it’s an inner-city doggy daycare.

Not sure what to do with that info, but I hope that they watch her like a hawk, and it sounds like they do for the most part. I wish there was an online monitoring system like most places have. I’m not sure why they don’t do that. But I think if they did I’d be checking that sucker all day!

I just spent about an hour looking at online reviews of the daycare. I don’t know, you guys. I’m wondering if this place is better for bigger, rougher dogs? I know they have 8 separate yards where they separate the dogs by size and temperament, but I’m a little nervous about what might be happening while she’s there.

Still, all of the other options for daycare have similar types of reviews. I think doggy daycare is probably similar no matter where you go, but I’m wondering if I should comparison shop when I get back from Los Angeles next week. Hm.

Yes, I know. Helicopter Mom.

I chatted with SHIP on and off all day today. He is in Hong Kong today, and when I’d checked my FB earlier in the morning, I noticed that my good friend Maria had checked into a hotel in HK, so I thought I would mention to SHIP that he could have some fun company in HK if he was interested and able.

He was already partying in Lan Kwai Fong (notorious party street), and sent me a tipsy selfie, so I didn’t push him seeing my friend.

He then sent me a bunch of photos of a newspaper article from one of the UK publications that made him think of me because it was about my industry. It kind of made me laugh because he photographed the article and you can see a part of the plane’s instrument panel all lit up behind the newspaper. I know that pilots don’t always watch the “road” while they are flying, but it just kind of made me think about when I’m riding in a plane and we hit turbulence or something. Does the pilot look up from his newspaper and snap back to attention?

Regardless, it was sweet that he thought of me and took all of the photos and sent the to me. I’m so looking for that same sweetness in someone local. Where are you, Elusive Local Sweet Guy? *ha! Thank you for the correction, Oscar!

Had a decent workout today, but still not pleased with my level of effort. Must step it up and get on strict eating system. This is a slow start and I’m definitely not proud of myself.

Still, I’m happy that I’m writing every day.

OK. Off to play around on FB until I drift off to sleep.

Love,
GS
