November 1, 2015. I don’t know if we do NoJoMo here in Prosebox, but I think I’m going to do one for myself anyway.

Tomorrow morning I leave on another trip to China. I’m exhausted just thinking about it and I have to finish packing. I’m about halfway done and it took me all day yesterday to prep as well: laundry, cleaning the apartment, searching for things that I haven’t thought about in a while, prepping for it to be that time of the month (tampons are extremely rare in China, as is toilet paper in the bathroom so I must bring my own), figuring out every day’s outfit for two weeks. I’ve heard back from Best Bud who’s in China right now that it’s cold and rainy in Shanghai, so I need to prep for that (good news is that our schedules will overlap for two days in Shanghai and we’ll get to see each other!).

I’m traveling once again to visit several factories and textile mills and then end the whole trip with a giant dog-and-pony show with my biggest customer. It’s always a suck-fest of ass kissing, this meeting, and this time it will be even more so because the Big Wig head of merchandise for this VERY LARGE retailer will be in the meeting, as will another Big Boss, as will my new pseudo boss (complicated), as will this bitchy woman I’ve worked with for a while…anyway…it’s gonna be a tough one once again.

Every time I go to China I ask myself why I put myself through so much trauma. Every time the answer is the same: I DON’T KNOW!

You know the phrase, “Work smarter, not harder.” ? Yeah. I keep saying I’m working on it, but it remains the same. Nothing’s going to change until I change it!

Friday night I dreamt a long and complicated dream, but the gist of it was that I was the cause of a whole city collapsing in a domino effect. I watched the whole thing just fall - giant building after giant building. My dream dictionary tells me that it’s the sign of complete destruction of old beliefs and thoughts. This needs to be true. I clearly need a new way of doing things and I believe that it can be. I just have to start moving towards new ways, new adventure, new everything.

OK. Well. Off to get some coffee, take the dog for a walk and then finish packing. I’ll be back tomorrow. I understand my plane has wifi alllll the way over the Pacific, over Russia, over China!! I will have plenty of time to get another entry in, I’m sure…especially since I’m sitting in the cheap seats. If coach class doesn’t kill me, nothing will!

Love you,
GS
